shared disk

I have 2 virtual machines in  same cluster. ( vcneter 5.5 u2 ) one vm is redhat 6 linux another vm is redhat 7 linux. I want to create one shared disk ( 500 gb ) is it possible ? how to create it ?

It is possible to share virtual disks between two virtual machines, but take in mind that you will need some kind of clustering solution inside the guest OS to handle the file locks, otherwise the data in that shared disk may become corrupted if both virtual machine try to write at the same time.

It is possible to share virtual disks between two virtual machines, but take in mind that you will need some kind of clustering solution inside the guest OS to handle the file locks, otherwise the data in that shared disk may become corrupted if both virtual machine try to write at the same time.

I'd like to do the same thing. My virtual machines are running CentOS 7.

Did you find a solution ? Which type of cluster did you used ?

Do you share a vmdk between VMs or a RDM device ?

Could you please tell me if you find a documentation about how to use a shared disk on linux cluster.
