problem connecting 2.5.4 build-38650 host to VC 2.0.1

Having a problem connecting 2.5.4 build-38650 host to VC 2.0.1:

When attempting to connect the host, I am first getting the error "login failed due to bad username or password" This error comes up before I even input the username or password. The it gets to 84% complete and fails with error "failed to install virtual center agent service"

Is the ESX host being managed by any other instances of VirtualCenter? If so disconnect and remove that host from the other instances.

It was, but I removed it before I attempted to add it to the VC 2.0.1 server

You can try restarting the serverd and vpxa-vmware services and see if it helps.
