Currently I am finding that my templates are appearing as being orphaned; even after stopping and restarting the VC server service. It usually happens after about a day from when I restart the service. Any suggestions?
Templates are server and datastore related so the problem could rely on datastore connection.
Ran into the same problem. I tried the work-around of removing from inventory and adding to inventory but that was a tedious process.
As soon as I restarted both the SQL Server service and the Virtual Center Server service on the Virtual Center server and I got all the templates back.
It sound like a bug.
Open a SR to VMware support.
