migrate VM from distributed switch to standard switch

Hello

I have to migrate a VM which is hosted on a cluster with distributed switch to an other cluster with standard switches.

This migration can be done where the VM is powered off.

By the default migrate function I get the follwing error message.

Is there an other solution?

(without removing the nics)

many thanks, Sven

Can you check the network configuration of the host the VM is running on. Does it have a relevant VM portgroup created on the Standard vSwitch.

may you need change which port group your virtual machine are using.

click edit setting of virtual machine , go to network adapter and check if its configured correctly pointing to vswitch of standard switch.

Hi vGuy

many thanks. For test purposesI created a test port group on the vss on Host A, But the VM was on host B.

After migrating the VM host A I was able to change the port group to "test". After then migrating to an other cluster with vss was successful.

many thanks, Sven Smiley Happy
