I am new to vmware and trying to install vcenter.
My question is can I install vcenter (v4) on a seperate member server (that is not a vmware server) that already has some IIS apps running on the server?
When I started to install the vcenter and it saw that IIS was already installed, it popped up a warning and I do not want to corrupt my existing apps on that server..
Thank you!
For production use, I wouldn't recommend to install vCenter server along with IIS server due to the fact, IIS server also use port 80 which will conflict with the Tomcat Web Services. In case you still want to do so, you may have to edit the "Default port" for the IIS to 8080 or something else and during installation of vCenter Server specify the ports appropriately. It should work if you change port for IIS but again not recommended.

IIS will conflict with vCenter and you will probably run into problems starting the service. Have you thought about running vCenter as a VM?
