iSCSI Multipath with 2 vSwitches

I have an ESX 4i host with 2 ISCI NICs reserved for iSCSI traffic (see attached)

I’ve read the VMware iSCSI config doc, and it does a good job of explaining how to setup multipath with a single vSwitch, as does the multivendor post on the same subject. However, I wanted to use the two virtual switch approach. This is where it gets fuzzy for me. I thought I set it up correctly but when I look at the storage summary for my host VMs that reside on the SAN I only get a “Partial/No Redundancy for my multipathing status in VCenter server. I have 4 paths to my SAN. I can’t seem to find documentation on how to setup iSCSI multipath when using 2 NICS and 2 VSwitches.

Does anyone know where I might find the appropriate documentation, or advise if my solution is setup correctly?

Thanks

I haven't had any luck unless the VMkernel NICs use different IP subnets.

Once I did that (and configured my SAN do match), it works like a charm.

I gave up on this and set it up with one singlw vSwitch. My problem now is that one host has 4 paths and one has 6 paths. Big time confused.

Turns out that a server reboot fixed the extra paths.
