im getting this error on one of my poweredge r710 esx4 servers , the other servers are working fine and the hardware status is working fine too
i tried rebooting the host shutting down the host i checked the ports and they were open in vcenter server , i ran esxcfg-firewall -q incomging / outgoing and i got all ports are blocked by default " that msg came on the rest of the working servers too"
i added the host removed the host , i can scan the host for updates and i can do vmotions and alot of the vcenter useful stuff , but when i click on the hardware status i get that lovely error msg "hardware monitoring services on this host is not responding or not available"
any clues?

nope , all the hosts they have the same settings , nothing has been changed . just the esx1 hardware status doesnt feel like working
i found that error in the vws.log im not sure if that helps
couldn't contact cimom on 172.16.1.7/host-1001
