failed to find a host for powering on virtual machine

Hi there,

i just made a change to a VM's memory and CPU settings and im now getting the following error

"failed to find a host for powering on virtual machine"

I've tried setting the settings back to the original values but this also hasn't worked and after doing some reading on the communities i see some people have tried disabling HA and getting it to work this way but this still hasn't worked for me.

do you have any ideas on this please

thanks

please ignore this question, i was away for a week and someone made some changes to the resource group that the VM was on. set them back to the original settings and all is working.

sorry for the post

Same case. Smiley Happy

Vm with 4 vCPU - reserved 6000Mhz. ESX host's with 2x 4cores/at 2.83Ghz.

VM set back to 2 CPUs. 2 x 2.83Ghz = 5,66Ghz. This is less than 6000Mhz.

That is the reason, why the VM doesn't work.

Bye
