experience with bandwith of connected hosts

Hi all,

does anyone has experience with a vCenter in headquater and connected hosts in sites with limited bandwidth?

For example how does the vmware data recovery works? Is it stable?

The vCenter Converter Plugin I do not use, I know. So I manage this with a lokal side importer tool, installed to a W2K3 Server.

In our place we have one vCenter and plan to connect multiple sites to it with a bandwidth of 512 kb up to 6 Mb.

I open this Thread for a discussion and an exchange of experience.

VMware Data Recovery performs a full used vmdk backup and follow by dedup. with 6 MB line it would be doubtful but again it is also depending of the dedup size increased per day.

Check this whitepaper on vcenter on remote site. it would give you a rough idea how much bandwidth is required. http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-11492
