ESXTOP is a command run from the Service Console on an ESX host - it provides for very granular information on that ESX host - the GUI while connected to vCenter allows you to view your entire environment - ESXTOP provides real time while there might be a lag from the GUI.

Additionally, there are some metrics that ESXTOP can show that aren't visible from the vCenter GUI.

Lastly, ESXTOP has a convinient batch mode for recording this data.

Hi weinstein5,

By using ESX TOP we can get current and real time information. but in vcenter GUI it will be a slight delay.

and we can use some addtional metrics. i am right ?
