drs cluster problem

Hi,

I have a problem since we imlemented VCB+Ranger last week. (Maybe not related) we were using ranger alone...

Every task in the DRS Cluster timed out. I have one ESX Host out of that cluster and on that one I can clone, create... Do every tasks.

Whats wrong???

I looked at the log and there was Licensing issues...

I ran

service mgmt-vmware restart

service vmware-vpxa restart

And it fixed it.

Was it related to VCB?

That has happened to me occasionally. Seems to be a bug with the management services. I wrote a small script to restart the management services that I kick off through SSH.

DNS not responding for some reason?

I have seen cluster services (HA/DRS) fail when DNS failed. Perhaps DNS requests are timing out sporadically?

That seems to be my issue, I created a hosts file on each machine, to see if this problem comes back.

No,

We did an other test with VCB+Ranger and the host started to become unavailable again. VM Cretion/migration was timing out. We just don't use VCB for now and everything is back to normal.
