customization specification does not rename the guest OS, or assign static IP's

my customization spec will not rename the new VM's guest OS, it uses the name of the server that was converted into a template in vshpere. The static IP's are also not asigned as specified in the script and customization specification.

Im using Windows 2008 R2 as the guest OS, and am not syspreping the template before converting it.

I really wish this would get addressed as I am having a similar issue.  My solution was to uninstall SP1.  Do you have SP1 installed?

I do now, but for weeks I had the same problem without any pack installed on the guest os template.

I know what you mean, I have spent many hours trying to get this to work and it's still not doing what it should.
