converting template to virtual machine error a general system error occurred: Invalid fault

Good day all,

I am trying to convert a template to a virtual machine to update it and I get an error saying "virtual machine error a general system error occurred: Invalid fault". We are using esx 3.5 and vc 2.5

Any ideas as I have never seen this before.

I'd give this KB a shot. Hopefully that fixes your issue. Not sure if it applies to templates (.vmtx), though.
