change vCenter server 7 FQDN and DNS

sorry for this very basic question,

I read article: https://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2019/08/changing-your-vcenter-servers-fqdn.html and https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.vcenter.configuration.doc/GUID-F46D... , and wonder about if the statement(in the article) still valid for vCenter server version 7 environment.

my vCenter has no FQDN and its DNS server IP is 8.8.8.8, now i'm gonna create a standalone dns server, not active directory, for vCenter to join.

I believe in version 7, vCenter's DNS and FQDN can still be changed via VAMI webpage, is it true that the steps are same as configuring verison 6.7U3(except for the active directory part)?

or maybe the requirement(to change FQDN & DNS) is different now???

thanks in advance.
