can we change the vcenter authentication from local to domain after the installation??
during the installation the VC instance was not in a domain. if i add my instance to the domain,can i change the authentication method so that users can login with their respective domain logins

When you add to the domain it is already configured to authenticat also to it.

As noted above this will be available after you join the vCenter to the domain, however since default only the local Administrators group has any access to the vCenter server only members directly in this group in the local SAM database has access + groups from the domain that has been added to the local Administrators, i.e. Domain Admins.
You could go the Permissions tab in vCenter and add other groups from the domain a suitable level of permissions.
ok thanks for the inputs. this meaning i can just add the vCenter machine to domain. there are no other settings that need to be changed?
