can not see templates from vCenter

ESX4. Logged in vSphere client. Upload several templates created under another vCenter (ESX4) into a datastore. Changed to VM and template view. Only see VMs, no templates. Am I missing any settings for template folder path? I need to use those templates for creating new VMs.

Thanks.

Hi

Once you've copied the templates to the datastore, (assuming that it is visible to both hosts?) then you'll need to add the template to the ESX hosts inventor, the same as you do for a normal VM...

To do this all you need to do is browse the datastore and right click on the .vmtx file and select Add to Inventory... The template should then be visible in the VMs and Templates view. 😃

Hope this helps
