Is there a way I can automate the installation of vmware tools on my servers. I am running infastructure server version 2.0.1
VI3.0 supports mass upgrading Tools on multiple VMs from Virtual Center using a command line utility. There is no completely automated way to do this but this is close. Please see the section "Upgrading Hardware and VMware Tools in Multiple Virtual Machines" in chapter 10 of the Virtual Infrastructure Install and Upgrade Guide.

and to add to eric's post...you will have to still schedule down time for the VMs as they will likely require reboots.
thanks
