Hi, working on some infrastructure upgrades so I was looking for a free tool that can grab some basic information such as the VM names, ram, harddrives and what ESX host each VM is on, the Network configuration of each ESX Host and its port groups etc. and the storage LUNs assigned to each Host etc. The basic information I would need to know to recreate that host I guess you could say. Take all of this information and pump it out to a PDF or Word document or something.
I am trying not to resort to writing all of this down for each ESX Host or doing screen captures of each screen or whatever.
Thanks everyone.
run this healthcheck that get all configurations of your HOSTs.
trasnfer to /tmp in ESX
run chmod 775 healthcheck.sh OR chmod +x healtchek.sh
./healthcheck.sh
will create a html with all information in /var/log
have this site too http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-7430

Check out this free and very extensive health check script -
Here is an example of what a report could look like - https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8746485/sample_vmware_health_report.html
