Windows Customization Resource were not found on the server

I received following error message when I want to clone of existing VM for new VM with new SID and Machine name using Customize using the customization wizard option at the step of Guest Customization during clone creation process.

"Winodws Customization Resource were not found on the server”

Sysprep exe is also installed on vCenter Server. Sysprep folders are also existing on the following location.

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware Virtual Center\sysprep

you are sure you have all the sysprep files in their proper location on your vCenter Server?

Do you have the guest os type folders created, and the proper sysprep files in the guest os type folder? See this kb for the folder locations and the versions.

what guest OS are you trying to customize? What version of vCenter? I assume, based on your screen shots that your Host OS for vCenter is W2k3?

Solution :-

Deploy .cap file is exist on SP2QFE directory when you execute sysprep.exe file with switch /x and enter specific directory. Just extract deploy.cap file and copy all extracted files in svr2003 folder and restart the vcenter server.

Now subjected warring message will not be prompt during the creation of clone and you can run customize wizard
