Where are Vhba interfaces ?

Hi,

I was told that I can add vhba cards on VM since ESX 3.5 (I'm on 4.0).

But I don't see vhba in list af possible new peripherals ?

Where can I find this kind of peripheral ?

Thx

I'm new on ESX 4.0 so where is PCI passthrought ?

Under ESX / Configuration / Advanced Settings

In this page you can see if your hardware support VMDirectPath.

It's to say that I have to have a hba card for ESX an another hba for each VM which need direct access to SAN ?

Yes.

In a real world 2 (for failover/multipath/...) HBA to ESX, and probably also 2 for the VM.

You can add a HBA card to a single VM using PCI Passthrough.

But your hardware must support this function.

And you cannot use the same HBA also for ESX.
