What vSphere product shows me who changed what of a VM?

Hi

I'm getting a bit lost on which product does what. I'm searching for the product that shows me exactly who changed the VM configuration on a specific date and also WHAT was changed. Since I can now only see "Configuration was changed" when I look in the vCenter events.

Was it "Configuration Manager" ? But on the current home page of the product I can't exactly find what it does.

I thought that Config Manager was more for the Windows OS' inside the VMs, not at the VM config layer (ESXi/vCenter).  It's a compliance tool, to ensure you have things setup per a policy.

What it sounds like you want to do is audit changes made in vCenter.  I think most of this is in the vCenter database, related to the events tables.

If you want to know what a specific one off event was about, one would think you can file a support request to ask.

On a more ongoing basis, it sounds like you want something like : VMware vCenter ChangeAuditor

Vmware Configuraiton Manager does that within the guest operating system, not 100% sure if it logs who did what in Vcenter.  I can't recall
