Web Client : Exporting data?

Hi, is it possible to export data as csv/html files from Web Client in 5.1, like it is in "fat" client ?

I want to add information to VMs with costcenter, and was using custom attributes before, but now, it seems like "tags" have replaced "custom attributes", so now I need to use Web Client to be "future-proof".

Is it possible to do ?

Any better idea how to solve mapping of costcenter to VMs ?

Thanks, Magnus

Hi,

what do you meen by Exporting data? Which data? A list of all VMs?

In the Web Client if you go for example on you cluster (double click) in the left pane you get a list cosisting of: Top level objects, Hosts, Virutal Machines...

Double Click on the "Virtual Machines" and you get a table of all you VMs the Name, State, Status... in the middle pane. Select the VMs you want to export and click at the bottom right Export List Icon.  Select the rows you want to export and click on "Generate CSV Report" and then on Save.

You could also simple export that list using PowerCLI:

> Get-VM | Export-Csv vms.csv

Cheers!
