VirtualCentre and MySQL

Hello,

I have been told by a consultant that we can setup virtual centre using a MySQL back end has anone done this before? Also what is your opinion about having the Virtual Centre machine virtualised with the ESX cluster?

Not sure where they got that information but if you check the following pdf it clearly states only SQL and Oracle

As for running VC in a VM there are different views from different people, some people cant get your head around the virtual management software being virtual, personally I swear by it as it enables you to use the multiple advantages of VMware/HA and DRS.

Hi, unfortunately MySQL is not supported by VMWare. You can only use SQL server or Oracle. MSDE and SQL 2005 express are supported as well but only for demo/POC.
