VirtualCenter 2.x licenses

Hi,

We have purchased 5 licenses VI3 Enterprise Edition that we have installed as single file on each ESX server, after that we purchased a VirtualCenter 2.x with 1 license.

When I have installed VC and I tried to add host I got this error "There not enough licenses installed to perform the operation".

All my hosts are 2 processors quad-core.

My question: Do I need other licenses to get my hosts connected to the VC?

There are licenses for vc agents. They are usually included with the enterprise license that you already have, but if your license file does not include that, then that may be your issue. If you're using VC, then it may be better to use centralized licensing, and use a license server, and keep your licenses there.

Either way, open your license file and see if you have VC_ESXHOST.

Hi Kjb007,

Your are right, all my VC agent licenses are included in my enterprise licenses. I did not know that.

I generated one centralized license file that I put in my license server and now I see all my licenses :D.

Thank you very much for your help.
