Virtual Center for VM Server and ESX 3??

For our VMware migration, I initially migrated all my phsyical servers to VM Server.

Later, I moved all our mission critical applications to a few ESX servers.

The issue I have now is.... will I ever be able to easily manage my VM Servers using the same tool as I manage ESX server?

I cannot justify spending $10K+ for additional licenses for something that I feel that I've already paid for with ESX.

Does anyone know if VMware will have it so VC will ever support both environments?

Yes, this will be coming in the next release of VirtualCenter which should be out by the end of the year. That release of VirtualCenter will support managing VMware Server 2.0 (another forthcoming release). For now VMware is selling VirtualCenter 1.4 (renamed VirtualCenter for VMware Server) to centrally manage Server. 1.4 will not manage ESX3 hosts though, only ESX 2.x
