Virtual Center and IIS question

Virtual Center and License Server are the only "applications" running on a the server. IIS was there and started because that's the way systems are built at this location. Any reason that IIS needs to be running? There was a port conflict when both IIS and Virtual Center were running. So I just wanted to make sure that we don't need to run IIS for anything related to VMWare.

Thanks!

If you didn't configure IIS to do something, like hosting a website, you won't need it.

vCenter runs perfectly without it.

The web portion of VirtualCenter runs on Apache Tomcat. You should be good to go. The web-services of VirtualCenter run on port 8085.

There is no reason for IIS to be running - it can also cause complications if running alongs isde Apache Tomcat - the web services used by VC

We had this same issue on VC 2.0.2 and found IIS to be running which caused issues. Once we stopped it the issues went with it.

I agree with the other folks here and just turn IIS off and disable it.
