HI all,
I have put together the Strategy and Process of getting the Virtual Center Service Problem from Recurring.
Please make sure IIS is not running on this Box.
Decide if you are going to use Virtual or Physical instance of 2003 Server ( Remember 2ghz,2gb Ram Minimum)
Add Physical or Virtual Instance to the domainDomain
Create a VClogin Account in AD With admin Rights
Install SQL 2005 with Sp1 and Restart
Make sure the SQL Services And Agent Starts up Automatically
Open SQL Server Management Studio.
Create A Security Login called VcLogin with Password vclogin, Must be a Sysadmin role added to it. (Server Roles on the vclogin User Properties)
Create A database Called VCDB and add the vclogin as login User
in the security Folder on vclogin - make the default database VCDB. (Security/Users/vclogin)
on the VCDB Properties change the Owner to DBO.
Open Administrator Tools
DBL Click Data Sources (ODBC)
Create a System DSn using SQL Native Client.
Name VCDB, Server Local, use sql authentication - vclogin/vclogin
change database to VCDB
Test dataSource and click ok.
Virtual Center Process Of Installation
Install License Server First
Install Update Manager Second
Install Virtual Center
On the installation - use all default ports - when asked to use DB connection, Select Existing DSN.
Fill in the Required Fields - DSn Name:VCDB, Username:vclogin, Password:vclogin.
It will tell you about the file size growing to big.
next until finished.
After install is complete restart and check that the vc services have all started.
This Should Solve the servcies Problem with the Virtual center Service.
Please feel free to change any steps and post them here so we may make it easier to resolve problems like this.
