Vcenter with Windows 2008 Server , Necessary? Why?

Hello everybody:

I know that Vcenter is supported on Windows 2003 Server and Windows 2008 Server.

Can I consider using Wserver 2008  as a best practice ?

Why?

because i consider that using Wserver2003 will give me a faster deployment or  Will i lose some features by using Wserver 2003?

Thank you for your help.

Welcome to the Community,

you will have the same features on Windows 2003 and/or Windows 2008 (R2). However, Microsoft's support for Windows 2003 will definitely end earlier that the one for Windows 2008. Instead of installing vCenter Server on a Windows host, you could also take a look at VMware's vCenter Virtual Appliance.
