We have a 2.5 VC server in our DR site. We make it a domain member in our recovered environment when testing then remove when we are done testing or a new test is performed.
I was testing upgrade in the DR site on an isolated Windows 2008 server with a clone of the current database server. I couldn't complete the test installation as I didn't have a DC available on the private network.
I don't remember if earlier versions required DC membership and availibiilty for installation.
My question is once 4.0 is installed is domain availability a requirement to start the service and for it to function for local users on the server?
