Vcenter Upgrade

I am having Vcenter server 5.0.0 version with a old build number. now i want to update that to a new one. if i download a new build version and try to update that, what will happen to the existing configurations(like cluster, network configuration, registered plugins.etc...)?

i would think you are better off using VUM sphere update manager to update your existing config.

or use this

thanks for the reply. but that is all about esxi update.i am asking about vcenter upgrade. i just want to upgrade my current build version to the latest one.

Sorry I can't help but this is great. We're ESXI and you can help us with the VCENTER upgrade when you get a reply. I need help with finding the proper forum that discusses VMware and technology growth in the US. We're dying here and I need to at least contribute to bringing back technology in my part of the country. Any input or forums would help because I've been talking to the Senators.

Your vcenter configuration is held in the database, so as long as that is intact then your configuration will be kept following the upgrade.
