Vcenter 4 Recommended Install?

Hi All,

With Vcenter for VI3 there was always debate about the optimal install for Vcenter. Should it be virtual or physical, and should the Database reside on another server.

What are the recommendations for Vcenter for Vsphere - is the optimal a virtual or physical server, and what about the location of the Database?

TIA Smiley Happy

I think you can apply the same consideration of VC 2.5.

FT and HA can work also when VC is rebooted, so is still possible have a VM for VC.

Local DB or dedicated DB? Depends on your infrastructure size.

And so on...

The debate still goes on - as Andre said the same considerations should made when yyou decide as it was in with VC 2.5

Debate 😮 for some people this is trantramount to a religous war. but as regards the vCenter Physical/Virtual install arguement all the same questions that were asked for 2.5 need to be asked for 4.0 and the answers will be the same. as Andre states FT and HA will work without vCenter but vCenter is requried to configure them.
