VcSA password reset

Suddenly, my root password for VcSA stopped working. I went to follow the reset procedures, but the issue comes into play that my Vcenter server is virtual (I inherited it this way), so when I do the reboot... I loose access. How can I see the splash screen? Is there another means to keep connection during the reboot?

Can you connect directly to the host that has vcenter running?

Connect to the ESXi UI directly and follow   https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2147144

Thanks. It took a little thinking to figure that out. I was able to connect to the host and complete the change.
