VMware remote console - the address wasn't understood

Hi Guys,

I use Vcenter 7.0.2 with HTML5.0. I have also installed VMware Remote Console 12.0.1. It's a windows client.

My default browser is Firefox latest version.

When I launch VM with the remote console link, a new browser tab opens with the message "the address wasn't understood". When I try Google Chrome, not even a new browser tab opens. So basically I can't use the Remote Console on my Windows 10 machine.

It looks like there is an issue with resolving the vmrc:// url

I tried a few things reinstalling the remote console.

Could you please help?

Thanks

Ciao

in order to use the "VMware remote console" you must be able to communicate from the client, that you use to connect to the console,  to the ESXi hosts on port 443. So you must be sure you can communicate with the ESXi hosts.

In the following link more details

https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/76672

As a test, you can try to connect to the ESXi node web client hosting a VM on which you cannot access with the VMware Remote Console and try from the WEB interface of the ESXi HOST (which response to port 443) and then subsequently also try to connect to a VM hosted by the ESXi HOST you connected to.
