VMware FT will be using the same vmdk hence shared storage is required.

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by primary and secondary image.

Maybe this can clear something up: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1013428

What happens when I turn on Fault Tolerance?
In very general terms, a second virtual machine is created to work in tandem with the virtual machine you have enabled Fault Tolerance on. This virtual machine resides on a different host in the cluster, and runs in virtual lockstep with the primary virtual machine.

no problem, remember that FT supports 1 vCPU only as well as certain range of processor of the virtualization host only.
