Hi folks,
We are planning to deploy a Cluster with this 3 servers with different speed of CPU. Can I deploy vmotion without problems??
Servidor Intel Xeon E5345 2.33Ghz 2 Quad Core 32 Gigas Ram
Servidor Intel Xeon E5440 2.83Ghz 2 Quad Core 32 Gigas Ram
Servidor Intel Xeon X5550 2.67Ghz 1 Quad Core 12 Gigas Ram
Thanks in advance!
Randy
The x5 family yes, the x3 family probably won't work.. so 2 of the servers can be in the same cluster.. but you have to test the last one..
Wouldn't EVC cover 'em all??
Hi,
That's the point. I am not really sure if EVC will cover them. I have been browsing for info about it... but I am really confuse now!!!
The last site that I found about it was this... take a look:
Any clue will be welcome!
Best Regards,
Randy
With EVC with a "Intel® Xeon® Core™2" baseline is possible.

HI,
I have been reading about EVC and sound interesting. My concern is to build a mission critical cluster using EVC!
I would like to make a survey!
Can be safe and secure to have a misssion critical platform using EVC or could be better to make the effort to obtain blades with the same CPU type!
What do you think about it?
Randy
EVC is supported also in production environment.
And I've using in several cases without big issues.
