Hi,
I'm trying to convert a Windows 2008 server; everything seems to go along fine until it hits 96% and then it either causes the server to BSOD or just hang. I read up and found mention of the cold boot conversion which is apparently only available to enterprise 3.x subscribers.
Does anyone have a good suggestion as to what I might try next?
I attached the logs but I'm not sure where to look (aside from the bottom of the last log).
If you are licensed for vCenter Server 4.1, you should be able to download the latest Converter BootCD. You will find it when you go to the vSphere download section and click the "View History" link for the vCenter Server. From there select VMware vCenter Server 4.0 Update 3 and modules

Hi, thank you for replying; There isn't such a selection that I can glean from the downloads; when I first got my license I requested this and was directed/informed that ESX(i)4.x used the stand-alone version now.
When I find and attempt to download the version which comes with the Bootable converter, I get this:
Sorry, at the moment you are not authorized to download VMware vCenter Converter 3.0.3 Enterprise. You have the following options:
This indicates to me that my three year vSphere licenses don't offer me much more than the free version does. Yes, it's nice to see my hosts in one interface but, opps thank you VMware's Dell rep, I didn't get vMotion (another sad story) and apparently, if I need the bootable converter, it's going to cost me more than the price of a couple of systems.
Ah gee, thanks,
Ack, reread your message and finally found the link! Cheers, downloading it now.
Hope it works.
