VMTools Upgrade without rebooting the VM

Hi,

I'm trying to find a way to upgrate my VMTools on about 40-60 VMs wihout performing a reboot. The reboot will occur during the next patch cycle.

I've looked through: from page 80 on, with no joy. I've searched the communities and found one post on this that is relavent: http://communities.vmware.com/message/850189#850189 . But the msi does not appear to like a gui'less quiet installation.

Has anyone successfully upgraded the VMTools without immediately rebooting the VMs, either from vCenter or from a script? If so, your help would be appreciate.. and I award points! :smileycool:

NB: I do not use Powershell yet. So, a VB script would be my best option.

Thanks!
