VM shows disconnected, how delete?

Hello,

i have here one VM in VC, this has the state disconnected, because the Datastore doesn't exist.

The ESX host doesn't show this VM in the inventory and i can't rename a other Datastore to the name, because i got the error that the name already exists.

How can i delete/remove that VM from the inventory?

Best regards

Stefan

When you say "disconnected" I can think it is inventoried but you can't do much with it ..... Is that right? So for example a righ-click on that vm would not give you options ?

Have you tried with "vmware-cmd -s unregister <vmx>" from the COS of that ESX ?

Massimo.

I solved it!

The VM was inventoried, but only in VC on the ESX host it was not displayed. With a right klick, i got only some options (alarms, permissions, performance...) but the "remove from inventory" was greyed out.

vmware-cmd i tested not, because the VM wasn't in the inventrory of the local ESX host and i had no vmx file for it..

The solution: I restarted the VC service, after this the VM wasn't disconnected and i removed it from inventory.

Thank you for the answer!

Regards

Stefan
