VM getting APIPA after reboot , vsphere 5.0 - Wink 2008

Hi ,

We have win 2008 machines in our infrastructure and assigned static IP address to all the machines. when we reboot the guest os , it automatically gets an APIPA address.

If we check the TCP/IP configureation it will be static IP, if yourun the IPconfig command it wil APIPA address. not able to find the issue , anyone faced similar issue or any solutions for this ????

Thanks!

Yes I have seen this issue many times in my environment.

Can you make sure the IPs are not assigned to any other machines?

Is it happening with all the machines or just one particular machine?

What vNIC are you using?

I usually change the static ip of the machine and if that doesn't solve it I delete the NIC and re-add it.
