We recently upgraded our VC to 2.5 upd 2, and also the same with one of our two ESX servers to 3.5 upd 2.
When I try to install Update manager on the WSUS server, it connects to our VC server fine, but when we come to 'deployment options step 2' it won't let us use port 80 for the HTTP port, so we have to choose another port.
After installation we have the error of 'web site hosting the update signitures and update packages cannot be reached. Please test the internet connection from the client.' which I think basically means that the update manager cannot access the net to download the packages. We also have an ISA server in the environment, which I also specified in the installation of Update manager.
Am I doing something really silly, or is it not best practice to have VUM sitting on a WSUS server? (The idea was a consolidated update server, as our current VC server doesn't have the space needed.)
