VI Client on Citrix Presentation Server Registry Error on Launch

I installed the VI Client on one of our Citrix servers and setup a published applicaiton for it.

When I launch I get the GUI but after entering the IP address of the VC and the username and password I get the following error:

Access to the Registry Key is denied

HKCU\Software\VMware\VM Infrastructure Client\Preferences

On the server I set myself (a domain admin) and the everyone group as full control.

This happens whether through published applications or directly connected to server.

We would like this capability for emergency management of the environement.

Any Ideas?

Your idea has merits, but why can't you just use the Web Service to manage VC? Also, you may want to consider putting VIC in AIE (if you have PS 4.5). Also, consider streaming it. I'll try your solution also and report back if I find anything.

Understand as web service but we wish to provide secure "REMOTE" access by ou system mgt. team if they need to get in and view stuff immediately. Citrix is our mechanism for such transactions.

We don't have PS 4.5 as we are running I think 3.X version of Citrix at this time.

Have you had chance to test?
