VCenter vAPP can't connect to DR 2.0

Hi all,

I have a Vcenter 5.0 virtual applicance deployes on a couple of esxi 5.0 hosts.

I've just deployed also the VMware DR 2.0 vApp but I'm not able to connect to it using the VCenter plugins.

If I use the Windows File level restore client, all works fine.

DSN works correctly

I've just rebooted both vApp.

I've notice that on the Vcenter vApp I have a very old DR plugin version (1.1.0.27) and I think that the problem should be solved by updating it, as you should read here :

http://blog.vmpros.nl/2011/05/24/vmware-vmware-data-recovery-could-not-connect-to-data-recovery-on-t...

So the question is :

How I can update the DR plugin on the VCenter vApp.

Thank you in advance to all of you who waste some time to help me.

Bye

Riccardo

VDR does not install any plugin on the vCenter Server part.

The plugin works only on client part (on the vSphere Client).

Check on another PC to see if you have the same issue.

I had this issue and I found that if I used the IP address of the VC  server rather than its DNS name in the vSphere client when logging in,  then used the VC IP address again in the VMware Data Recovery appliance  when registering the VC everthing worked ok.

Thank you for your answer.

It's too late to make the test. The customer want to install also veeam on the same VM and other Windows Applicatoins, so I've decided to use the same Windows VM to run also VMware VCenter Server.
