VCSA memory usage

Hi all.

After installing VCSA and Data protection they (or rather, java on it, judging by the top) use too much memory, although VCSA was made only basic setup, and Data Protection only two jobs added.

Is this normal?

What are the values. cannot really tell theoretically. have you checked the performance graphs for Vm and see if the values are going hish when data protection is working or if its always high which tells that VCSA is using a lot of resources?

Hi,

Do you continuosly see increase in memory usage, or it just use more memory during backup job.

If it keep consuming more memory, then it could be memory leak issue. For which I recommend you report it to VMware, since similar issue was reported for vcenter server and VDR plugin.

Hi,

Did you disabled data protection plugin and tested it, if you cannot , then raise support request with VMware. Provide vCenter server log bundle .

Heh, support says that the minimum system requirements to run VCSA - 4 GB, and that's fine.

Fine for linux without X?
