VCSA 7/WinSCP Heads Up

Info for anyone having trouble with WinSCP on vCenter 7.0x

Set your SFTP server to Default. Background:

I was having trouble with WinSCP after upgrading my vCenter to 7. I had always used the SCP protocol, but that failed and I found info about changing to SFTP. Most of the posts I found said to go into Advanced change the SFTP server to this:
shell /usr/libexec/sftp-server

That and other suggestions did not work for me, so I finally set to default. Bing, bang, boom, all good now. Maybe the suggested server path only worked for 6.x.

HTH someone.

VMWare Environment: vSphere 7.0, EQ PS6210 SANs, Dell R730 Hosts, dedicated Dell switches w/ separate vlans for vmotion and iscsi.

Hi, you might be aware of the Kb: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2107727

But also think about the latest Winscp version 5.21, because some changes were made on encryption:

https://winscp.net/eng/download.php

https://winscp.net/eng/docs/history#5.21.8

I think firewall settings are correct, so no blocking.

Kudo if you like.
