VCSA 6.5 appliance deployment issue

Hi Gurus,

I am unable to deploy the vCenter Appliance as it takes forever at "Waitinf for RPM installation to finish 5%" screen as below.

I tried both manual install and GUI installation.

Cheers,

Hello,

I had this same issue when I deployed VCSA 6.5 from the .ova template.

I was doing mine in VMware Workstation and it just never got past the RPM stage. After looking online for ages it said to change the nic to "Host Only" from "Bridged" during the initial power on, so giving it no external network access, this then for some reason fixed it and I never saw the RPM installing screen again.

I'm not sure how that relates to a normal production environment and deployment, as you would just point the install at a host, but hopefully this might give some sort of help or ideas! Smiley Happy

As you correctly mentioned it is being deployed on a ESXi host directly.

Hello

Just a few things to check. When going through the setup have you used FQDNs whenever it asks you for names of hosts/vCentre etc. In addition to this is your DNS correctly setup and do you have a DNS entry for both forward and reverse lookup for the vCentre.

Kind Regards,

RJ
