VCNS Edge status remain "Undeployed"

Hello,

In my home lab am trying to deploy an edge appliance but when i attempt to do so - it doesn't get deployed instead its status goes to "undeployed" and remains as such.

I googled and found port 902 should be open which i believe it is - its all on layer 2 and nothing in between that may be blocking. I was also able to install the agents on the host (end point, app)

Please advise, running host - 5.5.0 133820

vShield manager - 5.5.2 1912200

What am I doing wrong? Simple back end networking and standard port groups..

Thank you

Hello,

I also have the same issue.

Running the following:

  • vCenter 5.5 Update 2b
  • vSphere ESXi 5.5 U2b
  • vCNS 5.5.3.1 and 5.5.2 (both environments exhibit the same issue)
  • No firewall between vCNS, vCenter or hosts.

Thank you.

Hello,

I was initially trying this via the API.

Then i tried manually and same issue.

At that point I ensured the networks were proper in the vcenter managed cluster and also redeployed the cluster. When i was troubleshooting my code i had pinged vmware sdk support and this is what they said back then.

"When I ran your code in my lab I also saw the "undeployed" message, I thought it might be due to copying the network config you used so I manually updated the associated nics/port group/network to match my  configuration and it deployed. You could be seeing something similar."

hope this helps

Thanks
