VCDB location

So I have a completely stupid problem, I had to rebuild my VC a while back and decided to give it a clean database but left hte old database up while I transfered all the hosts and such to the new server.  I then forgot to delete the old database so now I have a VCDB and a VCDB4 but I'm not exactly sure which one is being used by my current server.

I've tried to look at the access to the databases but it seems like jobs are still running on both of them.  Is there an easy way to look at the odbc connection or a setting to see what database is being pointed to?

Hey Kyle,

Open the Data sources (ODBC) and get the system DSN Name.  Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ and find the DSN listed there and then look at the Database key. This is the name of the database the DSN is pointing to.

I got a whole lotta nothing under the ODBC path within the registry.  Any other ideas?

Try, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.\VMware VirtualCenter\DB

Haha - me too. I would shut down the vCenter services first and then offline that db and try to bring vCenter back up. If you chose correctly, you are good. If not, you just need to swap the DBs and try again - nothing should be broken.
