VCB with Netbackup

Hi All,

I am new to the Vmware environment. We need to backup the ESX server via VCB method and we dont have Netbackup license to do that.

But after reading the one of the forum thread i came to know that we can do the VCB backup as a flat file backup after the vcbmounter takes the snapshot of the vm's and copies it to the proxy server. I guess bpstart_notify and bpend_notify batch involves in this.

But iam not able to find the useful document or step by spet procedure for the installation and configuration for this method.

Please provide the document or step by step procedure to configure this method. Not sure how to configure the vcbmounter and bpstart_notify and bpend_notify scripts/batch files.

I am really help less. Please assist me.

Do i have to edit netbackup files bpstart_notify and bpend_notify file or VCB software will take care of this ?

Do i have to do any other changes/configuration in netbackup side ?

This may help some as well. Just ignore the stuff about vRanger -> http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-11417

You will also need to install the Netbackup integration kit -> http://www.vmware.com/downloads/download.do?downloadGroup=VCB15U2

The integration kit will modify the bpstart_notify and bpend_notify scripts for you.
