VCB & backupexec & virtualcenter & multipath

I use backupexec 12.5 which requires VCB to backup VM's. Virtualcentre is also installed on the server. ISSUE is everytime backupexec runs the server looses its iscsi connected disk drive.

underlying hadrware is dell 1950 server connecting to MD3000i iscsi storage. Connection is via Dell powerconnect switches.

Ive seen that VCB does not support multipath so ive unininstalled the multipath driver.

It was workin and seems to have stopped since the LAG was set up between the switches, the windows iscsi initiator was re-installed, or the Dell storage software was re-installed.

Anyone have a workin soln using backupexec and VCB and 1 NIC for iscsi and MD3000 with 2 controllers

Since you are using iSCSI for your datastores, you could use VCB in a VM. this would remove VCB from vCenter, and give you VCB functionality on a dedicated system without purchasing new hardware.
