VCB and vCenter Question

Do you need vCenter in order to use VCB? In other words, say I just have one ESX server. Can you use VCB to restore VMs to it or is vCenter a requirement?

VCB is a component on ESX host, but vCenter is not required, it depends on the backup product you use.

Most of them just need VCB to connect to the host, but you don't need to connect through vCenter to do backups.

Check the Software & Hardware requirements for installing VCB from the Virtual Machine Backup Guide from link

VC is not required to use VCB
